Devine Comedy

(A silent setting; what looks to be a dark kitchen, only lighted by the sunlight skewing through the glass of my window. I was always up for sunrise, never missed the first fresh smell of the new morning. I, however, am not like most people. Most people sleep in, wasting their days with rest when they should be taking advantage of such a beautiful morning. Not a storm in the air, just warmth from the sun heating my in ground pool opposite the kitchen. I usually am hated in the morning, especially by my friends and family. I never could stand being the only one awake, so I made sure everyone was up by making phone calls, dropping things on the floor, anything possible. I really didn't care if it was six AM, I was bored; I called up a friend of mine, a friend that was most certainly an important asset to my life. Although this man was more hated than I for his past actions, I could really communicate with him. For we were both brought together with the same interest, the same theories. We both have a common hatred for sinners. Those who sin, and have no regard or regret. I sit across the table from him, as we stare into each other's eyes. Dan Randolph is quite a character, I must say. I do not fear him or his abilities, but I do fear the fact his ruthlessness blinds him from his own fear.)

Dan Randolph: Danny, thank you for inviting me. I do not understand completely on why you would like to see me, but I'm sure it must be important.

Danny Starr: It's quite important.

(Randolph's face lit up in excitement, possibly thinking I wanted someone dead.)

Randolph: Who would you like me to murder, Danny?

Danny Starr: Dan! You always think that, eh old chap? Sorry to disappoint you, but this is strictly a mentoring request.

Randolph: Oh?

Danny Starr: Yes, please, teach me your ways.

Randolph: Danny, you're in no possible position to be a criminal, not anymore than you already are, that is. And if you think I'm going to let you become my copy cat killer, I should leave now!

Danny Starr: It's not that at all, Randolph. I mean the ways of the sinner… teach me what Dante's Inferno means, teach me your philosophies. Teach me your legacy.

(Randolph's eyes are of a confused look.)

Danny: Teach me about the seven deadly sins.

(I could see a smile appear on Randolph's sadistic face. He actually felt complimented for his evilness.)

Randolph: What makes you so interested all of a sudden?

Danny Starr: I used to be. I used to understand the sins. However, I was blinded by my own sin, my own vanity. I became arrogant, and egotistical. Self centered, and it took a GWA superstar to show me the light. It took Gabriel to teach me that everything revolves around the seven deadly sins. Friends, Family, life.

Randolph: Let us discuss your sins, first.

Danny Starr: My sins? But I have done nothing.

Randolph: Only your arrogance is still hovering above.

(What is he talking about? I don't feel arrogant. I care about other people now! It's a new me.)

Randolph: Pride, Greed, Lust.

Danny Starr: Lust? I'm sorry, but you do not have my number on that one.

Randolph: Hold on, Danny. You aren't looking at the full picture. Lust is not just sex, lust is a desperate need in general. You lust for vengeance against people like your father. Like Sett, like Judge, like Nate Hartman. You lust for the world championship, don't you?

Danny Starr: I wouldn't say lust, I would say want.

Randolph: I can see it in your eyes, Danny. You want those all right. You want them to the maximum. Perhaps you don't see it as lust, but you have to look at the full picture here. What is the opposite of lust?

(I stare into his eyes waiting for the definition.)

Randolph: Self control. Now you tell me that you do not lust for those things.

Danny Starr: I can control my temptations, my needs. I can obtain anything I want. My will power is too strong.

Randolph: That's when pride comes in.

Danny Starr: What do you mean?

Randolph: You consistently try to remain dominant by backing yourself up with false theories. Your mind disallows you to look at the real scene here.

Danny Starr: What's the real scene?

Randolph: You're going straight to hell.

(I became frightened by his previous words.)

Danny Starr: What?!

Randolph: No, No! It's a good thing!

(This guy is a nut.)

Danny Starr: How is going to hell a good thing!?

Randolph: Since there is no turning back. You are already going to hell, so why not live up to the advantage of the rest of your life.

(Wait a minute… where is he going with this?)

Danny Starr: What do you mean?

Randolph: You have no choice but to go to hell, now. So why hold back and become a good human being? You cannot change the fact your fate will lead you to the fiery depths, to Dante's inferno. Now you can do anything you want!

Danny Starr: Is that how you see your life? Is that why your ruthlessness sets in?

Randolph: I say it's time to turn the sin against the sinner.

Danny Starr: What do you mean?

Randolph: Nate Hartman. What are his sins, from what I have taught you so far?

(I thought back to all the sins, and looked at them in a new light.)

Danny Starr: Sloth. His constant drug use destroys his brain cells making him weaker, making him lazier. No concept for life, just to smoke marijuana on a daily bases.

Randolph: Sloth: The avoidance of spiritual or physical work; Laziness. Good… what else?

Danny Starr: Lust. His lust for the drugs. Without them he becomes enraged with violence. Always thinking about his power source. Perhaps lust isn't always sex, as much as desperateness. Without drugs, he cannot function correctly. He cannot concentrate right; his downfall is awaiting him. His downfall will be caused by lust.

Randolph: Lust. Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. As you say, Sensational! Another?

Danny Starr: Envy. Nate Hartman envies me.

(I was trying to be humorous, however, Randolph was at top seriousness.)

Randolph: Be realistic, Danny.

(Wow, that hurt.)

Danny Starr: I cannot think of any more.

Randolph: Have I taught you nothing? What about Pride, Danny?

Danny Starr: Phenom doesn't seem too arrogant…

Randolph: Perhaps not, however, you're not looking at the full picture again. Nate Hartman has the pride of family. He could care less about you; all he thinks about is vengeance. All he can focus on is revenge against you for what you did to his brother.

Danny Starr: Vengeance? Why would he have want revenge against thee? I never hurt anyone…

Randolph: You too must be blinded by pride. For you too must not see the true picture. You did start this, Danny. You too are ruthless, just like me. Perhaps your violence will grow as you drive closer to the edge of sanity. You sinned against Nate Hartman.

Danny Starr: I, I sinned?

Randolph: My favorite sin of all: Anger.

Danny Starr: Anger?

Randolph: Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath. Why you do it: You're wired for it. Also, the people around you are pretty damn irritating. The most ironic part of this is the connection color.

Danny Starr: Connection color?

Randolph: Yes, the color that is most associated with your sin. Wrath's linked color is red. Which you obviously drape upon yourself with. I remember before your fifteenth power trip… you were in the EWF: The Return. Look at the facts, Danny. You would destroy anyone who crossed paths with you, and you did it with complete ruthlessness. You ruined the careers of Darren Copeland and Jason Corlett with your finisher out of pure wrath. The sins connect with certain people. Nate Hartman is one… you are another.

Danny Starr: How so?

Randolph: You allow your greed to create a selfishness, which can be looked at as arrogance. Your pride forces you to be violent, be completely ruthless. Which leads to wrath.

Danny Starr: This isn't about me…

Randolph: Perhaps not, but you should know your own sins before attempt to recognize other's. I can see in those eyes of yours'. You are a violent individual… a greedy individual… and nothing in your life means more to you than defending your word, defending your pride.

(I stared as if I agreed with him.)

Randolph: Nate Hartman is a pathetic specimen. Not only am I certain you will defeat him, you will destroy his pride and his wrath will become greater.

Danny Starr: You think I'm scared of that lousy ingrate? Quite the contrary. You know, Randolph. A great man named Steven Fury once told me… fear nothing… and fear no one. With those two steps I will succeed in any goal I choose.

Randolph: What is your hypothesis of Judge, Nate's partner in the match?

Danny Starr: Greed. That World Title has gone to his head. All he cares about is that belt; his entire life is dedicated to the treasure that all the pathetic low lives in the HWA want. They are greedy, and on top of that is the master of greed. Judge. When he gets a taste of that gold, he wants more. He will do ANYTHING for that piece of metal that represents a champion.

Randolph: Covetousness is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Greed. I'll allowed it…

Danny Starr: Wrath. He plans on destroy Kevin Conner, and my Foundation of Sensation? His greed is covering up the true light… he is blinded from seeing the truth. And the truth is the only wrath that will be seen in our match will be of my sinning.

Randolph: You're learning quite well, Danny.

Danny Starr: Envy. Judge envies me…

Randolph: Danny!

Danny Starr: Come on, Randolph… let's face the facts!

(Randolph twists his mouth in a pondering fashion, and finally agrees.)

Danny Starr: You're envious of me, Judge. I can tell by the way he mentions my name with a high toned pitch. The way he look at me during my matches. His eyes light up with hope, hope that maybe one day… Judge can be like me. The sinning is all for nothing, however. He's going to hell all because he admires "The Sensation"? Well, there goes the neighborhood!

Randolph: Here comes that arrogance again…

Danny Starr: It's not arrogance if it's true. Let's do some sinning practice. Let's do Dan Sawyer, now.

Randolph: Seems like you're getting into this, Danny.

Danny Starr: Gluttony. You fat, disgusting fool. You wonder why you lose your matches? Perhaps maybe because you aren't fast enough to throw a punch. Or perhaps it's because of your lack of skill. You're too busy eating up a storm before shows, that you have no time to practice, train, prepare, or contemplate!

Randolph: Gluttony. Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires. He's not that obese, but he is flabby. Anything else you noticed?

Danny Starr: His attempt at wrath should be a sin itself… an eighth sin titled: Appalling. Why he continues to challenge people that are better than him is beyond me… I mean the entire roster? Come on.

Randolph: This is to be taken seriously, Danny. No time for smart sarcasm at this point. You are now entering the realm in which demons control your movements and mind.

Danny Starr: Alright… Envy.

Randolph: This one is actually accurate.

(I give a sarcastic smirk towards Randolph for his smart-ass comment.)

Danny Starr: For years, Baseball Dan has followed me around. Considering me to be his idol? To be his hero? To be his admiration? I can understand his theory, however it is quite annoying, Randolph. Dan Sawyer's poor portrayal of a wannabe Danny Starr seems effortless. At least he could comb his hair. He envied me for so long, that I became bitter to the fact I had a lackey that I wanted nothing to do with. Perhaps he beat me at ReBirth. Sawyer's envy will never die, and mark my words… he will feel my wrath yet again.

Randolph: Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. That's about right, for him at least. Why don't you profile me… what sins do I have?

Danny Starr: Where should I start? Lust. You are desperate for blood. Not even self control can end your need for it. You're violence is to the point where death and blood is a power source. It keep you going.

Randolph: Very good… continue…

Danny Starr: Pride. Your arrogance rises even more when you kill a person. Your talent has given you pride to the point where you cannot lose your record. Your lust motivates you to continue your profession.

Randolph: More…

Danny Starr: Gluttony. You aren't fat. However, the consuming of something beyond requirement fits you. Your goal was achieved a while ago. Your limit was met. Your death toll reached 21 deaths, yet you continue to murder. Perhaps for fun, but it's beyond requirement. You are not a glutton, but you cannot stop your hobby.

Randolph: Nice theory… more!

Danny Starr: Envy.

Randolph: I think not!

Danny Starr: Oh yes… perhaps not you. Perhaps not envy, but competition. Jakob Grimes is your only fit competition. The only other ruthless human being with no respect for humanity.

Randolph: I see… MORE!

Danny Starr: Greed. The more you kill the greedier you become! Your work becomes habit and fun for you. Seeing sinners being murdered. Death is your favorite game. Consider the game monopoly. The more places you buy, the more money you can make. You cannot stop there; You continue buying out all of the places until your opponent cannot make any moves without a fine. The same with you.

Randolph: MORE!!!

Danny Starr: Sloth…

Randolph: I gotta see this.

Danny Starr: The same as Nate. You junkie piece of shit.

Randolph: Watch your fuckin' mouth when you talk to me!

(I smile for he fell into my last sin trap. Randolph stands to flip out on me.)

Danny Starr: And finally! What you are showing now… wrath.

(He noticed my entrance into the final sin, and smiled at my manipulation. He sat back down and leaned back against his chair.)

Randolph: My favorite…

Danny Starr: Your wrath is worse than anyone I have ever seen. The ruthlessness in which you show towards your victims… it's astounding. It seems as if Eric Rayne bailing you out in court gave you confidence, as if you felt you were invulnerable. As if you felt even more undefeatable than you already are. Your path of success was created from these sins, and your own sin created your work into a magnificent masterpiece! Which I, myself, envy.

(Randolph smiles in approval.)

Randolph: Very good, Danny. I'm glad you learned. We will continue this on a later date. You seemed to have gave me inspiration just now. I'll be back later on… oh, and you might want to have a bed ready for me to hide from the police in.

(Great, I gave a cold blooded murder inspiration! He's going to go kill someone again, I can sense it! I rolled by eyes at his sick, sadistic love, as he stands up. Dan Randolph circles the table, and finds his way to the edge of the kitchen, where the door leading to my drive way is located. As he opens the door and begins to make his way out into the cloudy atmosphere, which was sunny a half hour ago, and he suddenly stops and turns around to face me.)

Randolph: I'm going to show Hartford something they'll NEVER forget.

(I stare into his evil eyes, wondering if what I had done was right. Then I remember I am Danny Starr, I can do anything I want. The door closes as I continue to stare ahead. A smirk appears on my face as I mentally think about my match Saturday. I team up with fellow FOS member Jason Mysterio. It's apparent that he doesn't trust me, but who could trust me after losing to that miserable tyrant, Baseball Dan. It's quite alright, however. I run the Foundation. He just works for me! Judge. Can you remember back then? Back before I left last? Who was the champion? That's correct… I was. I won that match as I did all of them. You were the one I defeated, Judge. And the sensational part is… I had to QUIT HWA just to lose the damn strap. You could never beat me, Judge. You could never step up to my excellence; and my friend… you never will. So give that message to Nate Hartman. For I will settle unfinished business with that pathetic low life as well. Not worth his time? We'll see. TCO recreates the Aftermath? He does it to destroy the Foundation of Sensation? It will never happen, not since I am here to stay. I destroyed you Chosen One, I destroyed everyone in that damn group you have. I buried the Aftermath! I completely ended their reign of unsensationalism. You bring it back for vengeance? Prepare to lose more hope, for I am going to put you all on my wall in the hall of sensation. Then you will understand my trail of perfection. Sensational is just a characteristic… my path is defined. With that, you may all relax somewhere else before Survival. My friends… that's what it's all about. Survival.)
