Guilt to Arrogance

What have I done? Have I gone too far, yet again? Perhaps for the first time in history, my actions are regretted; leaving me with a sensation of sorrow and guilt. I didn't mean to- I didn't think it would- but it did. My selfishness got the better of me, my own lust for the International Championship got to me, wrath got the better of me. How could I be so selfish? However, I could not stop now though. Not yet… Sett wants my head, and I must find yet another loop hole to escape from the trial. I plan to make this right… I just don't know how.

(It was around 7:30 PM, I should be taking a warm bath at this point on a normal day, however, the circumstances were much different than usual. On this day, I was still in that small, putrid jail cell at the County Police Department. Manslaughter in the first degree; aggravated assault. I was looking at some jail time… but not if I could help it. As I sit contemplating, and thinking of what has happened these last few days, I try to change topics by glancing at properties of this disgusting cell. The grayness of the concrete floor, was hidden by stains of vomit and blood from the past. I was not afraid of being here, as I was afraid of the consequences for my actions last night; however… I wasn't fearing my arrest. For I knew, I was going to escape this, like always. However, I needed the right resources, and for that… I had to make the one call. I was given permission from the prison guard and he accompanied me to the phone. The poor twit must have believed I was sadistic and relentless enough to try to escape from his grip, so he locked me in handcuffs behind by back. Wondering if he was all there, I looked to him with concerned eyebrows.)

Danny Starr: How am I supposed to dial my lawyer's number with my hands behind my back?

(Mostly sarcastic, but I was being serious. The guard gave me an angry expression; shortly there after, I felt a click at the base of my wrist, freeing me from the handcuffs. I politely thanked him, although he thought I was being sarcastic yet again, and used my finger to punch in the numbers of my lawyer. I memorized his number by now… I guess you can understand why. As the phone rang, I prepared for what exactly I was planning to say… in case he hasn't heard anything about it. The media should have swarmed over this incident, but I haven't heard anything yet… I hope this remains quiet. Suddenly, the phone picks up on the other end.)

Voice: Joseph Cross Legal Service…

Danny Starr: Joseph… It's Danny; Danny Starr.

Joseph Cross: Jesus Christ, Danny. What did you do now?

(Wow… he knew me better than I had thought.)

Danny Starr: Joseph, Haven't you heard?

Joseph Cross: Oh, I heard… You killed that poor woman; I cannot get you off the hook this time, Danny. It was on live television! It will ruin my career going into a suicide trial. No way… absolutely not. I cannot go into this thing this time, no chance in hell.

Danny Starr: I'm offering you twenty thousand dollars…

Joseph Cross: Okay, when's the trial?

Danny Starr: Beings I'm rich, they said I could name it. As long as it doesn't conflict with the Judge's schedule. I said I was going to pick Friday…

(After a pause, Joseph suddenly exclaims a point.)

Joseph Cross: Did you say Friday?

(I agree.)

Joseph Cross: There is no possible way I can represent you in court that day. I have a tag tournament where I team with Buff Daddy Dollar$ for the Duo Championship. It's on Friday at Bloody Roar, no chance in hell I can make it.

Danny Starr: Damnit! I have no lawyer now, Joseph… no one!

Joseph Cross: I'm sorry, Danny! There is no way to avoid this event… the Entourage will have my head on a silver platter; Don't you think Judge will have me killed for missing the debut pay per view for his federation?

Danny Starr: Joseph. You call me back when you find me another lawyer to take your place. I need to get out of this before Obliteration.

Joseph Cross: I'll do my best, Danny. Just hold tight for a little while.

Danny Starr: You do that, Joseph… don't disappoint me. This could be my downfall if this isn't handled properly.

Joseph Cross: I understand, Danny. Now please, I gotta get back to preparing with the Entourage. Later man…

Danny Starr: Ta-ta.

(After we had both hung up, I asked the guard a question which I had already known the answer to.)

Danny Starr: Excuse me, May I make one last call?

(Regrettably, the answer I had anticipated was the one I received. The guard accompanied me back to the cell at which I was placed in to begin with, and closes the cage, so to say. After sitting back down on my dirty sheets which are wrapped securely around this stiff bed, I begin thinking of my current situations. I thought about my turn on Kevin Conner; I thought about how Jason Mysterio and Breeze this week. Was I going to be out in time? Or was I to no-show this sensational event due to my actions to Ryan's situation. I could not answer these questions… I just couldn't think of a solution to secure my answers with backup. I wish this was all one bad nightmare, and I had never attempted to pile drive Heather… but then reality strikes me yet again, and reveals that I did. Reality becomes my nemesis once again, and awakens the truth in worse ways imaginable. If only I could have a second chance… I could make it all right. I thought in depth about these problems with Ryan, and the match with Mysterio and Breeze; not even to my acknowledgement had I fallen asleep. The next thing I remember is being awoken by a quite loud bang, which was echoed through the hall my cell was in. It reminded me of the asylum a few years back… it brought back so many bad memories and sounds. The hard floor taps of people walking towards me made a chill run up my spine. I brushed by hair back, which had been slightly ruffled from sleeping all night, and sat up straight. I hoped perhaps the footsteps were someone coming for me. My lawyer, maybe Joseph had reconsidered… however, it was the same guard as before. Same expression on his face, same attitude towards me… he approaches and stands before me, through the bars of course.)

Guard: Mr. Starr, You have a visitor…

(Joseph Cross! I knew he would reconsider! Just when I was sure of my visitor, the guard pulls the bar opening to the side, allowing an entrance through and an exit out of the cell. As the guard steps to the side to allow Joseph Cross through, I was quite surprised to see it wasn't Joseph after-all, it was my ex-girlfriend, Jenn Copelin! She looked quite sensational… her beautiful hair and body brought back so many great memories; however, we just weren't meant to be… I was sadistic and greedy, she was… well, nice. I couldn't stand to be with someone who was… nice. There was a definite change here, and it was a change for the better…)

Jenn Copelin: Hey Danny…

(Surprised, I asked…)

Danny Starr: Jenn? What are you doing here? I thought we were-

(She interrupted my question by touching my lip with her two fingers. She looks back towards the guard with fire in her eyes.)

Jenn Copelin: Get the hell out of here!

(She startled me; I was not used to seeing her like that, and I think the guard felt the same way for I've never seen anyone get out of there faster in my life. She turned back to me with a different look, and pushed my chest until I fell back into the bed. I sat up, still surprised by this new behavior, and asked 'What are you doing?")

Jenn Copelin: Joseph called me, Danny. He said you were in a predicament.

(Joseph Cross called HER!? I'm going to kill HIM!)

Danny Starr: What does that have to do with you? Why are you here Jenn?

Jenn Copelin: Well, Danny. I wasn't happy to hear you were in a bad position, a well deserving position; however after looking at the case, I decided that it was necessary to do what you had done to that miserable bitch, Heather.

(What is going on here? What am I missing?)

Jenn Copelin: After we broke up many months back, I decided to take my interest into Law. I attended many schools, and forget the many years it takes; it all depends on who you offer your, (She smirks) Talents… to.

Danny Starr: What are you talking about, Jenn?

Jenn Copelin: I am offering you a chance to be my… client, so to speak. I learned tricks of the trade, Danny… and I'm not only offering you a chance at a new relationship between me and you… I'm also offering you a chance for the best lawyer in Hartford… and so much, much more.

(A smirk appears on her lips as she looks into my eyes, which are shocked from her words. I look away from her to grasp exactly what she is offering to me, then look back into her eyes.)

Jenn Copelin: So what is it, Danny? Are you open for a new chance at something good? Or do you want to refuse to your freedom…

Danny Starr: Jenn… perhaps we could be great partners… in more ways than one.

(We both shake hands, which is where I thought it would remain.)

Jenn Copelin: Why don't you do a promo while I… welcome you to our new relationship…

(I didn't understand what she meant at first… but when she put her hands towards me lap, and unzipped my khakis, then lowers her head towards it, I was quite sure of her thoughts. I didn't stop her, I really needed some… 'Advice'. Suddenly, my sorrow and guilt turned into arrogance and ruthlessness.)

Danny Starr: Kevin Conner. I turned you because you were planning to do it to me. It was you who turned me… only I capitalized.

(A sensation rushed through my body, interrupting my train of thought, however, I regained it shortly there after.)

Danny Starr: Mysterio, you must understand… Kevin Conner is the one who had originally chose you to be rid from the FOS. It was not my doing. Same goes for Tommy Romeo, it was Conner who chose this for you; it was Conner who ruined your chances with FOS. Well Mysterio, myself, and Evan Blane will remain Sensational by putting you in your place, along with your pathetic team mate known as Breeze.

(Another short sensation stops me from finishing, but I get it back once again.)

Danny Starr: As Dan Sawyer once said… it's going to be a BREEZE beating BREEZE! That is to say if I am out of this disgusting cell by that time…

(A voice from below me rises interrupting my rants.)

Jenn Copelin: You will, Danny…

Danny Starr: Court is Friday, Ryan. Our tag match is Saturday Breeze and Mysterio… and Jenn as my new partner? Now THAT'S Sensational!

(I have the final sensation, and Jenn's head rises up to face mine.)

Danny Starr: And so was that…

(Jenn Copelin smirks evilly along with me as we both await the trial Friday.)
