SPACE It seems the tables have turned…
how ironic it is that the backstabber has become backstabbed by the
one he trusted the most. The one I looked at like a brother… Michael
Diamond deceived me; of all people, I never thought I would see the
day that my fellow FOS member would turn his back on me… and for what?
What reason would he do such a thing? Could it be Eric Rayne’s prophecy
coming true? No… it can’t be… he couldn’t have used me to get to the
top and just throw me away when he was established… it doesn’t make
sense. I killed his parent’s killers… I was always there for Michael
Diamond, why in God’s name would he throw me to the wolves… I love him
like family… It seems to be the talk of the time; Michael Diamond makes
history by turning on his best friend since child-hood as a final exclamation
point to his resignation from the HWA. A changed man being tormented
by past enemies… the past is haunting the name of Danny Starr, and no
one is allowing me to even penetrate their trust. It hurts in a way,
but I cannot give up on what I believe in… its just a matter of time
until they realize I have no plots or motive… no trickery or manipulation…
I just need clarity… I need a motive from Michael… why on Earth would
he do such a thing? How could he betray his lover’s brother… his own
Conrad… 3 years wouldn’t make a difference, not for this old goat… but
maybe everyone else has a new method of madness.
SPACE Today
was just another day, it seemed… although the weather seems to be more
beautiful than the days that have passed… I took in a breath of fresh
air as I shielded my eyes from the bright sun. Being followed by Jenn
Copelin as we descend down my mansion’s front steps heading towards
my black 300 C. Despite the sun’s location among the baby blue sky…
the clouds over my head were filled with thunder and lightning… rain
and hail all shuffled into one giant quiet storm rumbling softly inside
my soul. When I twisted the key inside the ignition, I confused the
storm’s thunder with the roaring of the engine revving. I pressed on
the gas pedal slightly as I used my finger to gently slide my sun glasses
in front of my eyes immediate sight.
Danny Starr: Now you’re sure today is the right day right?
Jenn Copelin: Of course… I accidentally wrote
it for the previous week, but now the Hartford Mall expects your attendance.
Danny Starr: I see…
Jenn Copelin: Don’t worry, Danny… it’s only until
1 PM, you’ll have plenty of time to go to the club and drink your 500
dollar glass of wine.
Danny Starr: Sarcasm noted… and for your information,
I’m not worried… I enjoy autograph sessions with my true fans.
Jenn Copelin: Yeah, whatever… just get going…
I swear, you’d be late to your own funeral…
Danny Starr: Fashionably.
SPACE I hit
reverse and back out slowly into the street weary of on-coming traffic.
I slip it into first gear and take off towards the mall. As I drove,
out of the corner of my eye, I couldn’t help but notice how elegant
Jenn Copelin looked… her essense was appealing, along with her luscious
lips that I just wanted to plant myself to.
Jenn Copelin: Something on your mind, Danny?
SPACE I felt
her oar radiating as I looked over to her… deep in her eyes, she could
sense my hunger… she could taste my lust and smirked about it subliminally.
Danny Starr: Just thinking about my up-coming
match with Bigg Money.
Jenn Copelin: wow… I’m impressed, Danny, actually
keeping on task, eh?
Danny Starr: It’s kind of hard not to remain on
task when your future depends on what is laid out in front of you day-in,
day-out in a constant cycle… I have never heard of ‘Bigg Money’ but
from the way he goes about himself, it seems the ‘big money’ wasn’t
spent on his education, nor etiquette lessons. In fact, if this man
has any money at all, he should consider investing in a newspaper and
reading the sports section this week to see exactly who he is facing
on Survival. I’m not quite sure he is getting the jest of this reality
that is about to get injected into his premature brain, but if he has
any sense at all, it’s in his best interest to take the time he is spending
in a bar to disrespect a legend… to start training for the match of
his life…
Jenn Copelin: I did catch his little promotional
video… he must believe he has a good chance against you…
Danny Starr: Well, in that case, I’m sure Nate
Hartman believed it was a good career move to start wrestling. Not that
I’m demoting his talent, nor Bigg Money’s but my confidence this Survival
is not necessary against people who believe too highly of themselves.
Jenn Copelin: I’m glad to see you are more focused
this week… by the way, Congratulations on your victory at Rebirth… it’s
a shame Michael turned his back on you, though. You don’t need him,
anyway!
Danny Starr: Look… I’m sure Michael has a good
explanation for his actions at Rebirth…
Jenn Copelin: Well, either way… you are looking
good right now… remember what I said about business and pleasure…
SPACE I felt
Jenn’s hand slowly run acrossed my right leg and onto my crotch. She
began rubbing the top surface of it but quickly pulls it away after
I violently swerve away from an on-coming tractor trailer causing a
loud, startling screeching sound from my axel. She begins laughing as
I take control of the wheel again…
Jenn Copelin: Okay, so maybe you’re not THAT focused…
Danny Starr: Damn tease…
Jenn Copelin: Oh, you know you love me…
Danny Starr: I wouldn’t go that far, Jennifer…
SPACE I smile
sarcastically as she joins in with me… out of the corner of my eyes
I could see her flirtatious facial expression. I was beginning to find
a place inside of her once again… an old flame rekindled from a new
business relationship. It was just a matter of time… but was I going
to trust her in that aspect any more? Time would tell… I had more important
things on my mind, such as Survival… and Michael’s betrayal. I pulled
up to the V.I.P. parking section of the Hartford Mall and locked the
doors as we climbed to our feet on the black asphalt.
SPACE I was
dressed in an express white button up shirt with black khakis being
accompanied by Jenn, who was draped in a white professional looking,
yet elegant styled skirt. We both walked towards the doors we would
enter the mall from and I pushed her causing her to trip on her white
heels enough to lose her balance. I laughed as I walked to the door
leaving her to regain her balance and follow slowly behind claming she
would get me back later. I walked up to the table I would sit at for
the next few hours and waved to the fans lined up in a queue throughout
the mall’s floor.
SPACE A calm
roar rang through my ears as I was blinded by the camera flashes… I
waved to them again as Jenn whispered in my ear to sit down and start
so we could get out of here. I did so, and the process began. A short
youngster walked up with a giant smile on his face ready to take on
the world it seemed. He shook my hand confidently, trying to retain
a tight grip but compared to my hand, it was the size of a mouse.
Danny Starr: Well, hello… what is your name?
Kid: I’m John Duran… Mr. Sensation….
Danny Starr: Hello, John… where would you like
me to sign?
John Duran: Can you sign my baseball cap?
SPACE He took
off his New York Yankees hat and placed it on the table… looking at
me with puppy-dog eyes as if I would deny his request.
Danny Starr: I’d be happy to, John.
SPACE I signed
the hat like the boy asked for… and placed it back on his head as he
smiled proudly. He shook my hand again and wished me luck against Bigg
Money. I looked back and up to Jenn, and we both smiled. I turned around
to see the next person in line standing at the front of my table. He
was a heavy boy with a girl I assumed was his little sister.
Danny Starr: Salutations! What is your names?
Heavy Boy: My name is Steve… and this is my sister,
Rebecca…
Danny Starr: Hello, Rebecca!
SPACE I was
shocked to see Rebecca run behind her older brother and plant her face
inside his stomach clenching on for dear life.
Danny Starr: No need to be shy… You have a strong
resemblance to my little sister when I was a child…
SPACE Just
then the girl looks up as if her shyness has perished… lets go of her
brother and turns to my completely.
Rebecca: Really?
Danny Starr: Absolutely… although, you’re a lot
cuter than she was! Keep a secret?
Rebecca: Yeah…
Danny Starr: She was actually kind of annoying…
but shhh, don’t tell anyone.
Rebecca: hehe… Okay, Mr. Danny.
SPACE I smiled,
then placed my hand over both of their heads as if petting them. They
thanked me and the little girl even requested a hug from me… just knowing
I made their day was enough to make me happy. The happiness was short-lived
when the next child walked up… he had a Danny Starr shirt on… along
with an FOS cap, and even a Danny Starr poster in his hands he wanted
me to sign.
Danny Starr: Well, looks like you came prepared….
Kid: I’m your biggest fan! I have all of your wrestling matches taped!
Danny Starr: Really? Maybe you can help me out then…
Kid: Anything!…
Danny Starr: In the 2001 Match… did I beat Ryan
Maxem in an LMS tournament match?
Kid: Yeah! You killed him!
Danny Starr: Thank you… that’s all I needed to
know… What’s your name?
Kid: I’m Anthony…
Danny Starr: Well, Anthony, you see to be a big
fan of ‘The Sensation’… how would you like to come to the next pay per
view and watch it with a friend… in my locker room.
Anthony: Really!?
Danny Starr: Absolutely! It’s hard keeping fans
these days, so it’s much appreciated that…
SPACE Just
then, my words are interrupted by the child’s name being called out
be an adult in the far distance.
Voice: Anthony! Anthony!
SPACE We both
looked to the location of the voice, and a man emerged from the line
of people waiting to meet me. It was an older man with thick glasses
and a flannel button up shirt. He grabbed Anthony’s upper arm in a tight
grip staring a bullet through him.
Man: Anthony, what did I tell you about Danny Starr…
Anthony: But Jack…
Jack: You listen to me… now go get in the car before I pull your pants
down in front of all these people and teach you a lesson…
Anthony: You’re not my father…
SPACE Just
then, Jack sends the back of his left hand into Anthony’s face knocking
off his FOS hat on to the ground.
Jack: You’re right… but until your mother finds a new husband… you listen
to my rules, now get in the car now.
SPACE Anthony
wipes a tear out of his eye and bends down to pick his hat up, but Jack
places his foot over top of the hat leaving his dirt-print all over
the material, bending the brim. Anthony stands up and runs away from
the table towards the exit… the Stepfather remains in front of me as
I look in utter disgust. I stand up to greet him and call the next child.
I could smell the alcohol on his breath from acrossed the table.
Danny Starr: Excuse me, Sir… there are people who are in line who have
paid to meet me… could you possibly move along?
SPACE Jack
looks directly into my eyes and approaches as close to my face as the
table allows him.
Jack: I can’t believe they let you back in the streets after killing
that young girl… they should have left you in that asylum to rot like
the scum that you are…
SPACE I guess
everyone expected me to respond to that… no doubt the old Danny would
have laid him out right there and constructed the exact same fate he
had been talking of. That was the old Danny though.
Danny Starr: Sir.. Please.
Jack: Yeah… you are that piece of shit… if it wasn’t for people like
you, I might still feel safe letting my daughter in the street… but
you are what’s wrong with this country… Heather… that was her name…
you ended that poor girl’s life and you have the balls to show your
face in public?
SPACE It was
then, Jenn Copelin stood up by my side.
Jenn Copelin: If you don’t leave, sir… I’ll have security escort you
elsewhere…
Danny Starr: No, Jenn… it’s fine… I’ve made mistakes, Sir… after 3 years
of constant, brutal battles with my own self… I’ve changed and now know
my past was unforgivable… I paid my dues to society and my regrets and
prayers all tie in with that young girl. There is nothing I can do now
but regret… and I’m sorry it was televised… I’m sorry my mistakes became
public… not because of my self image… but because of the children who
looked up to me… they now see me as a monster just like you. I’m not
asking for your respect or forgiveness, but this is not the time, nor
place for this conversation…
SPACE As if
my short speech was enough to cease the ignorance of a drunken man,
I looked away to my next fan when suddenly , what felt like a large
rain drop, crashed upon my face… it was spit dripping down my upper
lip thrown from the mouth of Anthony’s step-father. I closed my eyes
and wiped it from my face slowly… the fans all watched in wait of my
reaction, hoping I would leave him in a pool of blood… the drunken step-father
had fear in his eyes… but was ready to fight when I made my first move…
I looked at him after wiping away his saliva.
Danny Starr: I want these dedicated fans to know
you are the reason they will not be getting to meet me today.
SPACE I then
turn to the mass of fans…
Danny Starr: I’m terribly sorry for this inconsiderate man’s actions…
and I plan to come back soon, but today is just not a good time as of
right now. My apologies, and hopefully this man will not be present
during my next scheduled appearance. Sorry.
SPACE I then
walked away from the crowd as I heard massive boos… Jenn Copelin stayed
behind trying to calm the fans down as I walked out the back door towards
the parking lot. I immediately sat on the curb trying to get myself
together… It wasn’t long before Jenn followed me out and sat next to
me on the curb.
Jenn Copelin: Tough crowd, huh?
Danny Starr: Maybe I shouldn’t be doing this…
Jenn Copelin: What do you mean, Danny?
Danny Starr: I don’t know anymore… Jenn. Maybe its too late to redeem
myself… maybe my mistakes were so extreme I can never patch them up.
Jenn Copelin: You can’t expect to please everyone, Danny… you need to
keep your mind off these negatives and stay positive…
Danny Starr: Nobody is going to give me another chance… nobody wants
me to be around… it’s just… things will never be the same again… never
be as they were when it was Michael, Cass, and I… It’ll never be the
same as when I had yo…
Jenn Copelin: Had what, Danny?
Danny Starr: Nothing… I just don’t know where to go from here…
Jenn Copelin: Listen to me, Danny… yeah, you’ve made mistakes… but who
hasn’t? I can name one mistake right now I’ve made that I wish I could
take back…
Danny Starr: What mistake is that?
SPACE Jenn
then paused after my question and looked down… when I looked to her
she looked back up at me and placed her hand on my head stroking my
hair back.
Jenn Copelin: Losing you.
SPACE I then
moved closer to her… it was exactly what I was going to say before I
cut myself off… I was too nervous to say it, but now she had said it
and revealed she feels the same way. I placed my hand inside of her
hair and pulled her head towards mine slowly… both closing our eyes
simultaneously we opened our mouths and connected our lips… it felt
right… it felt like nothing else in the world mattered. All my burdens
perished for that moment…. My love for Jenn Copelin was still very much
alive… and hers was just as strong.
SPACE
But
what now? The world hates me… my best friend hates me… my only real
friend is Kevin Conner and he’s not even close enough to me to be considered
a friend… just a colleague that I’m afraid to put my trust in. On top
of that… Eric Rayne is becoming more and more dominating… using his
puppeteer to control my every move… but is he right? Is his motives
for my best interest? He said Michael wasn’t a friend to me anymore
and I didn’t believe him… now Michael has left me on the floor unconscious
after hugging me as if we’re brothers. I did, however find a friendship
in Syren, the only other battle royal winner… I felt as if there was
an unexplainable bond between us… it’s like, we both have a common bond
that drives us towards each other… but what is it?
SPACE
The
world may despise me… and the HWA may disrespect me… but under no circumstances
will this amateur ‘Bigg Money’ ever step into a ring with “The Sensation”
Danny Starr… and walk out after the match to his own theme music… only
an on-going ringing sound left inside of his head from the abuse I will
put him through. He jumps in front of a camera calling me names like
‘Asshole’, and ‘Bitch’… even my worst enemies do not disrespect me like
that. When I hear someone call another a ‘bitch’ I consider that a verbal
expression of owning someone… being above them in every way possible.
Downgrading the name of Danny Starr… I don’t need to have a ‘heel’ attitude
or ‘heel’ style strategy to leave you wishing you never stepped into
a ring with me… so on Survival… let’s hope you can bite what you bark…
I can guarantee I will make you ‘My Bitch’.
SPACE
I’m
not sure exactly who buttered him up for this match, but even butter
won’t let him slip away from my grip when I hang him on the wall, in
the Hall of Sensation.
