A new era... Part 5 [I didn't know how I looked to that jury, not that it matters. I have more class than all of them combined. They are you to find me guilty in my own residence? In my own city? I own it, I own this courtroom, I own their souls! They think they can waltz into my business and send me to confinement? No, they aren't. They can't, I cannot let them! My prosecution continues later today, and I'm quite interested in having the revelation presented to me in front of all of my enemies, I'm sure they will be disappointed.] (The scene fades in from black to a small room covered with green coloring, but not bright green, more teal. The walls are beige above the teal papering, and the windows create a glow in which the room's ambiance seems old, and official. Danny Starr is leaning over his knees holding his upper body up by his hands, as if he is contemplating deeply. Joseph Cross, his attorney, is sitting next to him, leaning on the arm of another chair, both teal. Joseph slowly leans away from the arm, and sits straight up; it seems they have been reclined there for a while because Joseph is becoming itchy at his spot. After maneuvering around in the same spot, he looks over at Danny Starr.) Joseph: Danny, this is it the final day of the trial. (Joseph has worry written all over his face.) Danny: Why are you so nervous, Joseph? I'll be fine Joseph: I'm not worried for you, if you lose, my career could be completely destroyed. I will have no future in law, no one will call me, no one will ask me to be their attorney. Danny: My friend, you are not going to be ridiculed for this, even if I do lose. However, I have a feeling after today, it will be quite the contrary. (Joseph is intrigued to understand what Danny is talking about.) Joseph: How so? Danny: Joseph, I'm going to do the unthinkable: I'm going to win the case, but that's not the beauty of it. The beauty of it is I am going to win even though there is enough evidence to put me in prison for the rest of my life. It's not because I have a good lawyer, it's because Hartford fears me. The members of that committee knows I cannot be beaten, and I will do anything in my power to secure that fact. Joseph: You cannot think you are invincible (Danny interrupts) Danny: I am invincible- (Joseph Re-interrupts.) Joseph: No, you're not! And you cannot keep thinking that. Your arrogance will lose this case, Danny. Danny: I have it under control, relax. I'm going to make you a very rich man, but you have to put your trust in me. I have this in the palm of my hand. It has nothing to do with arrogance, Joseph it's all true. (The scene fades to black.)
(The scene fades into the same courtroom from the previous day, dressed in wood, and plenty of capacity for people. The windows allow the sunlight to penetrate through, lighting up the court room. People are all seated and quiet, as someone is already on the stand. The case has obviously been pursued, and Mark Crow is on the stand. Chris Jenkins is questioning Mark about the case.) Mark: I always thought he was plotting; always trying to cause trouble. It was just a matter of time before this guy would get in his own trouble. I never trusted that dude, NEVER even after his convincing lectures and preaching that stole most people's hearts. How could this Juliet chick like Romeo!? (The court gasps.) Jenkins: Mark, despite the book you were reading on that day, what did you know about Danny Starr's whereabouts? Mark: Danny Starr? Right there in the first row. Jenkins: No, Mr. Crow where was he THAT day? Mark: What day? Jenkins: The day of the murders! (Mark looks down like he's confused.) Mark: What murders? Jenkins: Do you even know why you're here? Mark: Look, she said she was eighteen. I wouldn't have touched her if I knew she was 12, she looks mature! You couldn't tell the difference either, my honor. I'm serious, maybe she was 15, I'm not sure. I DO know she came on to me though, yeah, so there yah go. (Mark looks over at Danny.) Mark: Oh, hey Danny! What's going on? Jenkins: You had sex with a 12 year old? Mark: Nah, I was exadurating she was only like 3, I think that's 12 in dog years. Jenkins: Wait a minute did you have sex with a female human being? Or did you have sex with a female canine? Mark: Which one is worse? Jenkins: Listen, this isn't about your bestiality encounters, we're here to find the truth about Danny Starr. Mark: Oh, peace. (Mark stands up and walks down the steps leading to the stand, then continues out of the courtroom. Everyone stays quiet trying to figure out what that was about. The scene skips to Evan Blane on the stand.) Joseph: So Evan, how long have you known Danny? Evan: Since we were children, senior year of high school. Joseph: Has Danny ever become violent around any of his friends, or colleagues? Evan: Not his friends or colleagues. Joseph: What do you mean? Evan: Well, if someone outside of the Foundation Of Sensation fucked with us, Danny would make sure they paid their debts, as he likes to say. Joseph: Please refrain from using profanity When you say pay their debts, did he mean murder? Evan: No, nothing like that. Usually he would send one of us to jump them. Joseph: Who is 'US'? Evan: Well, the only time I was in it, it was me, Jason Marah, Cass Starr, Miguel Diamond, and that's it I think. Joseph: What kind of things did he have you guys do to the people that provoked the Foundation? Evan: Well, it depended. Usually just a normal beat down, but if someone really made Danny mad, we would light them on fire, hit them with cars, you name it. Joseph: Despite the extreme conditions and orders, the main point of this is, Danny Starr has a lot of pride and respect for his family and friends. He tries to protect them by ruling with an iron fist, yet when found out, people hiss and boo at his actions as if he is the bad guy. The two men who were murdered by Dan Randolph the other night were criminals. Dan Randolph will definitely get put in jail for that, he eradicated two villains of the street, and you create Dan Randolph to be the bad guy? The entire justice system is out of order, and this is the prime example of corrupt justice. Danny Starr, a man who is respected by many, is being accused of murder in the second degree. Please, members of the committee, realize what this case is about and hopefully then you will look deep in your hearts to find out you would have done the exact same thing under these pretences. (Joseph Cross begins to walk back to his seat.) Joseph: No further questions, your honor. (The scene changes to Neil William's on the stand.) Jenkins: Now, Mr. Williams. You are in fact the owner of the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance 3000 Corporation, am I correct? Neil: Yes, that is right. Jenkins: And you remember Danny Starr when he worked for you as a wrestler? Neil: Yes, I do. Back around 2001 Jenkins: I see, and was he a good employee? Neil: Yeah, I guess. He was always at the shows on time, always followed most rules; although he was quite the character. Jenkins: Could you explain that to the court? Neil: Sure, he was nice to me, but he had some crazy encounters with the other wrestlers. For instance, one time he was causing some trouble with a group in HWA called "The Void" group of three with Sett, Zack Tyler, Mathew Hydrox, and Scorpion. Danny Starr sends his Foundation Of Sensation at them, but bases every attack and encounter on the seven deadly sins. Jenkins: Could you explain that? Neil: One night he told Chris Phere and his brother Kyle Phere to attack Scorpion and Sett, steal their belts and hold it ransom. Later turned out that Danny Starr had kidnapped Zack Tyler's girlfriend, and made them choose between their tag team championship belts or Zack's girlfriend, who they already didn't care for. This turned out to be Greed , Envy, and Pride. Jenkins: I see, and what was lust? Neil: I believe that Cass Starr seduced Sett, and as they were in the bed, Evan Blane attacked him with a pipe. Jenkins: Gluttony? Neil: Jason Marah attacked Scorpion, and had his mouth held open somehow, then proceeded to pour gallons of Guinness down his throat. This process kept going until officials separated him by force. Jenkins: Sloth? Neil: I believe Michael Diamond attempted to paralyze Mathew Hydrox by multiple pile drivers. Jenkins: And the finally Wrath? Neil: Wrath, possibly the most disturbing. Danny Starr gave Zack Tyler a baseball bat, and the address he was holding his girlfriend at. When Tyler got there, Danny was ready, and he hit Zack's girlfriend with a mallet in the stomach. He threw the mallet and dropped to his knees where Tyler is about to take his head off with a bat, but Danny starts talking and tells him that she probably had a miscarriage with his baby after that shot. Jenkins: Was it? Neil: Unfortunately, Yes. (Jenkins turns to face the court, and randomly faces the judge, but goes back.) Jenkins: This is the man who Joseph Cross is defending; this man isn't a violent man; Danny Starr isn't capable of an act so terrible. Danny Starr is a master manipulator, and his pocket gets him out of everything. That is why Danny Starr is wrong; he thinks he can pay his way out of everything, he's like his father. (A disgusted face appears on Danny Starr's face, but he keeps calm.) Jenkins: Thank you, Mr. Williams. No further questions, your honor however, I would like to introduce a surprise witness. (The jury is surprised, and Danny Starr is interested in knowing who it is. Just then the doors open, and in a loud, whiny, annoying voice, the entire court is filled with echoes of "Where's the love!?" Danny Starr's eyes grow to the full extent of wideness.) Danny: You must be kidding Joseph: Who is it? Danny: This is about to turn bad Joseph: Why?! Who is it?! (Just then, Fred Durst walk down the aisle and climbs up to the stand. Fred extends his hand to give a hi-five to the judge.) Fred: Where's the love, Dawg?? Danny: Oh my god Judge: Please contain yourself while you're in my court, Mr. Durst. Fred: Aight bro, we tight. Aight question man, live it up, dawg! (Jenkins approaches the stand, already thinking this was a mistake.) Jenkins: I understand that you were attacked by Danny Starr, on more than one occasion? Fred: Yeah dawg, where's the love? I mean, I just wanted to give the guy a hug, and he be all hatin' like a fool! Jenkins: So you just wanted to give him a friendly hug, and what did he do? Fred: That playa hata hit me with a chair, man. I was like "yo, that be beat!" the bizitch keeps on doin' it man. Jenkins: When else did he do? Fred: Well, I was backstage, and felt I should hug him, he's all tite and shit, so I be walkin' up to him and then I hug him all I remember is wakin' up in the hospital, dawg. Where's the love? Jenkins: I see, and what about the second appearance on that same show you were on, The Tonight Show right Jay Leno? Fred: Yeah bro, Jay told me to hit Danny with a chair from behind, but when I got up there, I was too upset to do it. I dropped the chair and wanted to hug the dawg, but he hits me with a mallet. Where's the love, man!? Jenkins: Thank you, Mr. Durst. Fred: Yeah, no problem homes! Hey, can I say somethin' freely, dawg? (Jenkins agrees.) Fred: Aight, listen up, YO YO YO! I'ma busta rap! (Danny leans in and relaxes his head on his arms, then puts his head down to the table.) Fred: I'm about to get all FUN-KY up in this BIZITCH! Word to y'all mothas! (Danny begins banging his head on the surface of the table over and over.) Fred: Yeah, dawg! WASSSSUUUUP!?!? Let's make some noise up in here! (Joseph stands up, and interrupts Fred Durst) Joseph: Jury, your honor, Mr. Jenkins, can you all honestly tell me that Fred Durst isn't a fist magnet? Look at him, he's an instigator (Fred interrupts) Fred: Yeah, I know that but it's by D-12, but I'll try I'M AN INSTIGATA! Joseph: Alright listen, get the hell out of this court room! Fred: Hey judge man, he can't talk to me like that! Judge: No, really, get the hell out of here. Guards (Two cops by the podium drag Fred Durst from the stand by his arms as he screams) Fred: WHERE'S THE LOVE UP IN HERE?! ALL GONNA MAKE ME LOSE MY MIND! UP IN HERE! UP IN HERE! Yeah DAWG! L-I-M-P to the BIZKIT!!!!!!!!! (The doors shuts behind the guards who have successfully pulled Fred Durst out of the court. The scene now merges with Dan Randolph.) Dan Randolph: I'm at a toll of 28 people dead. I have murdered seven woman, seven children, seven teenagers, and now seven men. Twenty eight. I murder along the guidelines of the seven deadly sins. Jenkins: So this is connected to Danny Starr's actions in the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance. Dan Randolph: One of each seven have their necks snapped in half, therefore they are condemned as a sloth, unable to move; idle. Jenkins: That's disgusting Dan Randolph: The second of each seven are forced to eat each other. I stuck four fat people of each category in a room for a couple weeks, and locked the door. When I had come back in, only the teenager was still alive, the rest were all torn apart, flesh ripped to shreds, blood covering the floor gluttony is their sin. Jenkins: How did you get away so long? Dan Randolph: I then had some fun with the third of each seven I took a selfish child, an arrogant teenager, a woman lawyer obsessed with her pay, and a man named Tom Reynolds. Greed is their sin, and that is why I shot them in the head, and stole the money out of their pockets. (The jury is in shock at his prestigious work.) Dan Randolph: Envy? I took a fan of each seven those ridiculous football fans. The ones who annoy the other fans with their loud rants, and their bare stomachs painted with red paint. That is why I carved their front body structure with my initials, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER until their chest stopped moving. Jenkins: Please stop with the graphic detail stop Dan Randolph: Lust I took a sharp butcher knife to their homes. After killing the female baby sitter and slowly cutting her tits off, I found the little boy she was watching that night. I took the knife to his dick to be Jenkins: JESUS CHRIST! SHUT UP RANDOLPH! SHUT U Dan Randolph: When his mother came home, I repeated the first on her chopping off her tits. To the rescue! The father runs in with a hand gun! Luckily I slit his throat before he could life the muzzle, then proceeded to chop off his genitalia! How remarkable is that? A completely family dead, all in the same sin. Judge: Dan Randolph, if you do not stop, I'm going to have no choice but to kick you out of my court room! Dan Randolph: Pride Danny Starr is lucky he paid me, or he would have been the first one. I found a small bully at New York City Elementary school. What a character he was pushing around the little kids. I told him I was going to break his scrawny little neck right here, or he could let the small kids beat on him, making him be the fool. Obviously believing what I said he chose the beating from his rivals it's quite a shame that they ended up killing him in the end, after all. Then a woman, so arrogant because of her 'beautiful voice' always singing in front of large crowds, only for money, however. I made her an offer I stuck the knife to her throat, and gave her a gun. I stuck it in his mouth and told her to hold it there; to decide to blow her brains out, or have me slit her throat and lose her lovely voice. She was involved in herself so much, she chose death rather to not live in a world she could not sing in. A female teenager, so stuck up from her natural beauty, she teased the guys. So afraid of ruining her reputation by dating someone not very popular. So I gave her a ride to the slum of New York, and held a gun to her head until she entered the alley way where the criminals are hiding out from the police. I don't even know what happened with her Then a man, a gangster, wouldn't back down from anything. I told him to walk away from me in front of his home boys, or try to grab the gun away from my hand, which was aimed at his head. The silly fucker went for the gun, BAM! (Everyone in the jury jumps from being startled.) Dan Randolph: He was dead. Judge: You cannot use this kind of language! Get him out! (The cops grab Dan Randolph as he continues.) Dan Randolph: Finally we approach Wrath! My favorite! The child who was friends with the bully he tried getting some vengeance. So I put a gun to his head, but that would be considered self defense? Right? And a woman who was sisters with the mother I killed in lust! She suffered the same fate when I redeemed myself after she shot me in the shoulder. Then a male teenager, the current boyfriend of the girl I made go to the alley, he comes at me with a baseball bat? I showed him that a gat more powerful than a bat! And then, we have the final sinner. Tries to defend himself against me by stabbing me with a switch blade? I put the gun tip to Frank Eton's forehead and blew out his brains. (The door is closing as Dan Randolph is being dragged out of view.) Dan Randolph: YOU LOOK AT ME! BUT YOU DON'T SEE! UNDERSTAAAAAAAAND I'MA SINNA! (The doors closed, and the jury is still recuperating from that shocking twenty minutes that Dan Randolph was on the stand.) Judge: We are going to take a final recess, and when we get back, the verdict (Joseph Cross stands up.) Joseph: Excuse me, your honor. (The judge's eyes light up as his eyebrows rise in interest to what Joseph has to say.) Joseph Cross: I ALSO have a surprise witness. Mr. Eric Rayne. (The jury's eyes all light up, trying to phathom Eric Rayne's appearance as the doors in the back swing open, and a sophisticated looking man walks in and down the aisle straight to the witness stand.) Joseph Cross: Welcome Mr. Rayne. Eric: Thank you, Mr. Cross hello Danny. (Danny nods to Eric.) Joseph Cross: How do you know Danny Starr? Eric: We are both in the High Society, or were. We were both in the GWA, but I was kicked out. Joseph Cross: Do you still keep in contact with Mr. Starr? Eric: Most definitely all of the time, in fact. Joseph Cross: And did he tell you anything about his plans for Tom Reynolds and Frank Eton? Eric: Yes, yes he did. (The jury gasps, and Danny Starr smiles.) Eric: Danny has been planning it for a while now, this entire week, and the past week. Yes, it was a plan in a half, I must say. Joseph: Were you involved? Eric: Quite the contrary, I wasn't involved; however, I do know everything Danny did. Joseph: No further questions, your honor. (Joseph sits down next to Danny Starr.) Danny: This is where we see how powerful I truly am. Joseph: You brought Eric to rat you out? Danny: Yeah, that's right. Let's see who frees me first, the judge I threatened, or the jury Eric bribed. Joseph: My god but how? Danny Starr: The High
Society estate is left to Eric Rayne, since he was the last member before
it closed. He has quite enough money to go around, and since I was the
other person left in the High Society
he used it on me.
(The scene fades into the same room we started off at, all but this time, Danny Starr isn't contemplating, he's smiling evilly. And Joseph Cross is wondering what in the hell is going on.) Joseph: Are you sure about this?? (A short pause overtakes the room.) Danny: My friend, if this works I will become the god I should be. So to answer your questions, nothing in the world could change my sureness about this.
(The scene fades in, and the jury has been re-seated. The cop tells the entire jury to stand once again like in the beginning of the trial for the judge. Judge Cordele walks out, almost floating; the robe is so long is hides his feet stepping. After sitting down on the comfortable cushion of his high chair, he clears his throat.) Judge: Did you reach a verdict? (A man on the left side of the jury stands up.) Man: Yes we did Judge: Danny Patrick Starr, please stand. (Joseph Cross stands, and Danny Starr follows.) Man: For the murdering of John Starr we find the defendant innocent. (The jury makes a (Phew) sound, as the judge slams his mallet against the table.) Judge: Order! Man: For the murdering of Tom Reynolds and Frank Eton in the second degree, we find Dan Randolph Innocent. (The jury gasps.) Man: Responsible for the murdering of Tom Reynolds and Frank Eton in the second degree, we find defendant Daniel Patrick Starr innocent. Judge: Danny Starr is innocent in all counts, this court is adjourned. (The judge slams his mallet to the table, and no sooner does he do that, he rushes to the back door, and leaves the court. The jury stands up as some are congratulating Danny, the rest are just leaving. Eric Rayne walks over to a, not surprised, Danny Starr. The two look at each other, and shake hands, while smirking. Danny shakes hands with Joseph Cross, then proceeds to shakes hands with everyone else who approaches him. As he is doing so, he notices Patricia Starr in the back with her arms crossed. She is looking at him, and he stares at her with fire in his eyes. She immediately remembered his promise, so she turns around and runs out of the court room, slamming the doors behind her. Just then, the detective jumps up from shock, and falls to his knees.) Detective: Innocent?! Innocent?! What is wrong with this world to let a man who openly admitted to a crime; had all of the evidence to prove he was behind it, and the witnesses who told the jury what kind of a match you are, and you get off the hook?!? Why? Because you have money? I am going to be made a fool of I'm going to never be hired for any job now! My fucking career is over, and all because of our justice system! Bribes, Threats, corruption the judge is perverse! The jury was perverse! And who has to suffer for this? NO ONE, except me! The only person who wants this scum off the street, the only person who had the balls to step up to Danny Starr and his entire entourage! If this is the world I have to live in, then maybe I shouldn't this is my job? working my ass off for guilty people to get free'd? FUCK THAT! (The detective pulls out a gun from his holster, black berretta, holds it to his head, and pulls the trigger. A band echoes throughout the entire room space, as the detective falls to the ground in a violent thrash, covered in his own blood.) [I told you all, I would prevail. Danny Starr cannot be beaten. I'm not just rich, I'm not just sensational I'm invincible; I'm invulnerable; I am immortal. I cannot die, I cannot lose, I cannot be made a fool of. I'm too powerful for that; I'm too strong for that; I'm too smart for that. No one will ever beat me, no one can ever stand up to me and defeat me. You cannot beat who is unbeatable! You cannot defeat who is invulnerable! You cannot destroy who is indestructible! No matter how many people hate me; I will never lose. Completely out of line to shoot himself in court what kind of a person does that? Oh well it was time to finish the book. I had to end the final glitch in my life ]
(The scene fades in from a disturbing, and scary black to a dark room. The lights are out, but only a night light can make Patricia Starr able to read a book in bed. The night has fallen, or is at it's beginning and a storm seems to make it darker than it already is. Her bedroom door is locked, and bolted, to make sure her pissed of son, Danny, doesn't attempt to break in and do something unimaginable. The lightning from outside flashes, and a loud string of thunder crashes the sound barrier, startling Patricia. She grabs her chest as if embracing her heart, as her eye glasses are nearly falling. The music in the background, coming from her small old antique radio, is playing "In Napoli" by Dean Martin. As the storm comes closer, the lightning flashes brighter than ever, and her light shuts off. The music continues since the radio is running on batteries, obviously remodeled since batteries didn't exist the time this radio structure was used. Patricia is a bit frightened by the lack of light, so she tries to get up to find a flash light, when a knock at her bedroom door erupts. She stops in her tracks, scared to death. Only lightning makes some detail visible, however, it only lasts for a few seconds.) Patricia: Danny? (A voice from the other side of the door talks.) Voice: Yes, mother. Patricia: What do you want? Get away from here, just leave me to rest. Danny: Oh mother I was planning on that. However, I do need to get in. (Patricia sighs in disbelief at his bluntness.) Patricia: We'll talk tomorrow, Danny. Goodnight. Danny: I don't think so mother. Open the god damn door! (Danny starts banging on the door, as Patricia grabs her phone off of the dresses next to her bed. She dials numbers, and places the phone up to her ear, however, nothing but silence is heard on the other line. After a few more tries, she realizes the phone is dead.) Danny: I only want to talk, Mother. Patricia: I'll jump out the window, Danny! I swear I will! Danny: That would save me some strength, though. (Patricia is really scared now, and looks out of the window as Danny smashes something heavy against it. The door is getting weakened, you can hear it, however the disabling of light doesn't allow view, only sound. Patricia looks out of her window, trying to measure whether or not she can make the jump. However, she is intimidated by the look of the height, and stalls. That's when the banging stops, and so does Patricia's movement as she looks at the door in fear. A bolt of lightning shines the room for a split second, showing the door busted open, and also showing Danny Starr standing in front of it with a wooden croquet mallet.) Patricia: No Danny! No! Please! I'm sorry! I never meant to hurt you! (Danny Starr approaches the radio, in which "In Napoli" is obviously on repeat on a record. As he talks, to Patricia, he turns the music volume up to it's maximum.) Danny: It's too late for that now, Mother. You care about my father so damn much, why don't I reunite them!? Patricia: No, Danny! Not like this!!! (Danny stops in his tracks, while he was approaching his mother, but stops. Patricia's face stops as well, as a tear drips down her cheek, hoping he has reconsidered.) Danny: But mother it's not going to end like THIS I'm afraid you have mispresumed, however this will lead to your end. (Patricia's eyes widen as Danny Starr smashes her with the mallet. She falls down, and the mallet soon goes with her after Danny drops it. Danny lifts Patricia up from the floor, and puts her on the bed, reaches into his pocket and pulls out cable wire, obviously strong, and begins tying her wrists to the bed posts.) Danny: First to the asylum (Danny begins to tie up her feet.) Danny: Then to Jail (Danny tells makes sure that the wires are all tight, and unbreakable and climbs to his feet, turns around and starts to walk out the broken door, however he stops, and looks towards his mother.) Danny: Stay here for a second (As Danny laughs at his sarcasm; he grabs a container that was near the door he was smashing, picks it up and makes his way back into her bedroom. Danny begins pouring liquid out of the container randomly around on the bed, furniture, walls, and carpet. Danny grabs his mallet, and continues the trail of liquid throughout the house. After a couple more containers he had filled completely, he pours them all over the place as well, until all of the containers are empty. Once they are done, Danny walks through his mansion, down the steps, and to the hall where the front door is located. After standing in one place, looking around at his mansion, he searches in his pocket, and pulls out a match; we now know this liquid he had poured is gasoline. After Danny lights the match, he looks at the flame while holding it in the air absorbed with gasoline. Danny: Goodbye, Mother. (In an instant
the match drops to
the highly expensive floor, instantly lighting the carpet on fire. Danny
makes his exit, shutting the door behind him. He walks across the street,
and stands next to his car, which was parked there before he lit the
fire. Obviously he had been planning this all week. As the fire begins
to rage on throughout the Starr mansion, "In Napoli" fades
louder to overtake the scene's integrity; and the scene fades to an
evil, disturbing, and unsettling black as a tear drops down Danny Starr's
cheek, as he holds a wooden mallet.)
